Bio
Mark is a holder of an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in Business Finance and is a licensed CPA. He began his professional career at Texas Instruments where he spent 12 years in roles of increasing responsibility. The time spent at Texas Instruments also includes an expatriate assignment for two and one-half years in three separate countries.In
1997, Mark took a job as the Corporate controller at Burr-Brown Inc., a publicly-traded semiconductor company. Burr-Brown was subsequently sold to Texas Instruments in the year 2000. After Burr-Brown, Mark was hired as Corporate Controller and VP at Conexant, Inc., also a publicly-traded company. He subsequently was promoted to CFO of Jazz Semiconductor, which was a spin-off of Conexant. Jazz Semiconductor was sold to Tower Semiconductor in 2006. Mark then moved into the venture back company world where he spent eight years with three companies as the CFO. For the past 5 years, he has worked as CFO for privately held companies and joined Safeway in July 2018.
Mark is passionate about giving back to city/county animal shelters. For the past 14 years, he has been actively involved in two dog rescues by showing adoptable dogs every Saturday, picking up dogs from shelters, collecting and donating dog and cat food to needy organizations and transportation of animals in need. Over the last 14 years he, along with his supporting organizations have supported the adoption of over 600 dogs that otherwise would be at risk.
